JISD Police adds officer to their ranks

Josh Lyon has been hired by the Joshua ISD Police Department to serve as the Ninth Grade Campus and New Horizon High School officer.
Officer Josh Lyon began his law enforcement career in 1998 as a corrections officer for Johnson County Corrections. After graduating from the police academy, he became a patrol officer with the Nacogdoches Police Department.
Officer Lyon returned to Joshua area in 2004 and began working in the Joshua Police Department. During his almost 16 years with JPD, he held many positions, including patrol supervisor, detective and several administrative ranks.
In 2019, Officer Lyon retired from the Joshua Police Department at the rank of Captain and has since been providing property and evidence services to several police agencies in the area.
Officer Lyon is married to a fellow Joshua High School graduate and they enjoy watching their son play basketball.
