October 2023 School Board Recognitions

At their October 16 regular meeting, the Joshua ISD Board of Trustees recognized members of the JISD family.
The Board recognized Joshua High School student Luke Breedlove for being named as a Commended student in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended students among the top 50,000 students in the nation that entered the 2024 competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test.
The Board recognized the Nichols Middle School boys soccer team for being the first boys team to win a district championship with an undefeated record of 3-0-1. The team members recognized were: Coach Andrew Chambers, Mathias Elizondo, Colin Haught, Tristyn Howard, Coen Hunnel, Kaylub Moser, Guillermo Renteria, Brycen Allred, Simon Angeles, Maverick Boatman, Kade Boone, Uriel Chavez, Nate Chittum, Zahdyn Dickerson, Eli Einhaus, Jared Escamilla, Demetrius Folsom, Nate Gonzalez, Carson Kilco, Luther Matt, Maverick Ramsey, Gadiel Santana and Cole Southard.
The Board recognized the Nichols Middle School 7th grade Cross Country boys for their District Championship title! The students recognized were Lucas Ramsey, Cason Murphy, Armanda Figueroa, Jaime Duran, Luis Romero and Noah Moser.
The Board recognized the Nichols Middle School 8th grade Cross Country boys for their 2nd place finish in district. The recognized students were Coen Hunnel, Peyton Ray, Jaxson Brian, Max Beth and Tristyn Howard.
The Board recognized all JISD Principals and Vice Principals for National Principals Month!
